2009 Appeal Letter

8th September 2009

CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN SINGAPORE 2009
(FRI 18.12.09 TO FRI 25.12.09)
NEEDS YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Dear Brother/Sister in Christ,

Greetings in the name of the only God who in the fullness of time sent forth His Son .. to redeem us (Gal4:4)!

I appeal to you not only to pray for and participate in this 6th CCIS, but also to give sacrificially and generously now (as we need the funds to pay the vendors in a timely and God-honouring manner).  I trust I don’t need to convince you as to the spiritual and eternal value of sharing to the public (Singaporeans and foreign visitors) the true meaning of Christmas. However you may wonder why the 2009 Budget is $886,500.

The estimated commercial value for running a 7 day event is at least $1.5 million. CCIS obtains the use of State land at a concessionary rate; Plaza Singapura, Paragon, Tong and Tangs have extended their frontage for free; each evening 150-200 volunteer their services at different stages in performances, crowd ushering, creative services and event management for free; transport for the foreign performers was sponsored; even our main contractor for the 7 floats, stages, sound system and dioramas gives a 20% concession!

The 2009 Budget is :-

Advertising and Promotions 31,000
Insurance 11,000
Licences 16,000
Medical 2,000
Security Services & Disposal Fees 39,000
Communication Equipment 3,500
Contractor – 7 floats, construction cost, rental of light and sound equipment of the Christmas Village (Plaza Singapura) and the 4 Performance Stages at Orchard Road Walkway (Fronting Wisma Atria), Paragon, Tong Building and Tangs and the Christmas Day Grand Concert. 650,000
Drivers and Technicians 3,500
To Host Foreign Groups 51,000
Road Diversions 25th Dec 2009 – SBS and SMRT 9,500
Publications 24,000
Administration and Miscellaneous 21,000
Staff Salary 25,000
Total $886,500
…..
If you believe this opportunity is God-given, God is looking to you to help fund His work, now.
